The private house

The projection site is located on a steep slope of the riverbank, from where you can watch the endless heather spread out and the river flowing with excitement. The picturesque heather grass provides the perfect backdrop for the architecture. The building blends seamlessly into the landscape as if it were a natural extension of the land. We focused exclusively on the main space of the house, which is made more open using large glazing planes, but at the same time is warm and welcoming thanks to the natural wood in the soffits of the roof. We designed the building with a horizontal orientation to avoid contrasting with the hilly structure of the surrounding terrain. The architectural and spatial composition contributed to this. The elongated shape of the bricks perfectly emphasises the horizontal proportions. We chose this material in light colours to accentuate the heather in the background.
