The hotel complex is an organic extension of the architecture of the hilltop restaurant. The hotel buildings cascade downwards, emphasising the geometry of the slope.
We have sought to preserve the original shape of the hill, so that the architecture fits in with the continuity of the mountain range.
Everything is made up of simple elements: stone walls and concrete slabs resting on them. The interior space is separated from the exterior only by glass walls. This creates an image of caves dug into the body of the mountain.
We sought to recapture the authentic image of a primitive cave, that sacred image of a primary dwelling that lies in the subconscious of every person. A cave with a fireplace is a symbol of tranquillity, security, silence and comfort. These feelings are important to the people who spend the night in the cave.
